Welcome to the Orthopaedic Institute at Mercy Hospital
Dr. Carlos Lavernia M.D. Created in 2003, the Orthopaedics Institute was initiated in order to establish a center of excellence in arthroplasty surgery. It's located at Mercy Hospital, a member of Catholic Health East, Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. The division has made significant progress since its inception, integrating superb patient care, an organized and outstanding teaching service, and a high quality, high profile research program.
